Are you interested in becoming an AgLife Connector?

AgLife Connectors help identify community members who may be experiencing thoughts and feelings of suicide or other impacts to mental wellbeing.
Connectors also help connect community members with local resources and supports.

Can I be an AgLife Connector?

  • Are you 18 years of age or older?
  • Are you involved in BC agriculture?
  • If you answered yes to these questions – you can be an AgLife Connector!

Why become an AgLife Connector?

  • Support your community by helping connect community members with mental wellness resources and supports
  • Participate in evidence-based suicide prevention training
  • Learn the three-part Connector model: Check, Care, Connect
  • Receive ongoing support for Connectors

CHECK:

by identifying people within your local agricultural community who may be experiencing thoughts and feelings of suicide.

CARE:

by validating and listening to what they're going through and offering to help by connecting them to local resources and supports.

CONNECT:

by liaising community members with local resources and supports (such as designated counsellors).

How do I become an AgLife Connector?

  • Sign up for an AgLife Connector Training (availability below).
  • Attend the entire AgLife Connector Training.
  • Complete the AgLife Connector Training and join the AgLife Network as a volunteer Connector!
